Southeastern Divers, Inc., or "SDI" as we are commonly known, was incorporated in 1980 in Florence Alabama by Jack Pounders.

SDI has been in the business of training divers, organizing dive trips, and selling and servicing SCUBA equipment since then.

SDI is the only Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) 5-Star Dive Center in North Alabama. SDI has trained thousands of divers since 1980.

Disclaimer: SDI is not now nor has ever been associated with the training agency "Scuba Diving International", which also uses the acronym "SDI". Scuba Diving International was not created until 1998, 18 years after Southeastern Divers, Inc. incorporated. Over the years SCUBA instructors around North Alabama who are NOT affiliated with Southeastern Divers, Inc. have attempted to convince the public that they "teach SDI courses" by affiliating with Scuba Diving International. Please make sure you are receiving training from the real SDI by asking "are you an instructor with Southeastern Divers?"
